RESURRECTION

It had been nearly a month since Calpurnia had been reborn, rising from her grave three centuries later.

Knowing her family cared so deeply for her as to scour the world gathering the priceless artifacts and blasphemous knowledge needed to perform such a spell. Her heart swelled just thinking of it.

Though still of the body she'd had at her death, at just 26 years of age, Calpurnia could barely stand as she stepped from her grave.

The Addams helped her to their home, setting her up in a guest room and tending to her every need.

Her voice, at first a rasping whisper through sod-filled lungs, slowly grew.

And muscles, strained by centuries of disuse, found their strength once again, to where she could leave her bed and take short strolls about.

Often she found herself sitting in the library, fire roaring, listening as her family thrilled her with tales of modern life.

Though some prejudices still remained, Calpurnia was delighted to hear how bold society had become! Truly indulging in the thrills and pleasures of life and rejecting the chains that had held back so many in her day.

She could hardly wait to get out and experience such a world for herself!

THE WITCH OF THE WOOD

Though always welcome by Gomez and Morticia at the Addams Manor after her resurrection, Calpurnia was drawn back to her childhood home, a cabin deep in the fog and branches of the sprawling forest.

Once more, as in centuries past, word spread of a "Witch of the Wood."

It was said that, nestled deep within the forest, the Witch performed wicked, depraved acts of sin, conjuring spirits and fornicating with the Devil himself.

All manner of misfortune, from plague to pestilence, was blamed on hexes cast by the Witch.

Worst of all, it was said the Witch was luring children to the edge of the wood, where they would be snatched and slaughtered and tossed in a stew.

Of course...all these rumors were true.

Try as they might, no petulant huntsman nor vengeful sheriff could track her, wandering about as wicked cackling grew from the shadows...

Yet to the misfits, rejects and horrors of all shades, Calpurnia is gracious, welcoming those who might otherwise be turned away by polite society.

To that lovely horde, her door is always open.
